WBAL “Legendary Fair Hill Racing Returning Labor Day Weekend”

Labor Day Weekend will see the long awaited and much anticipated return of a Maryland Thoroughbred racing tradition at the newly renovated historic Fair Hill turf track.

After a 5 year hiatus, Fair Hill racing returns to the rolling hills of Cecil County just a few furlongs from both the Pennsylvania/Delaware borders with The “Races at Fair Hill” on Saturday, August 30.

Right across the road from the turf course is the Fair Hill Training Center that is home to some of racing’s top Thoroughbred trainers including Kentucky-Derby winners Graham Motion, Arnaud Delacour, Michael Stidham, Elizabeth Merryman, Keri Brion, Brittany Rusell, Michael Matz and Dr. Kathleen Anderson’s world renowned Equine Veterinary Care.

For generations of Marylanders the Fair Hill Races has been a family tradition dating back more than 8 decades to when William du Pont Jr. built a turf course and started hosting racing on property had purchased in the 1920s and 1930s known now as Fair Hill.

Known previously as the Fair Hill Races, The Races at Fair Hill atmosphere is unique to Maryland Thoroughbred racing with an almost county fair-like feel to it along with popular parimutuel betting.
