Breeders’ Cup Features Four Fair Hill Products

Lexington, Ky. — Fair Hill has four training center products running on Friday and Saturday in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland. Alda and Invincible Gal race today on Future Stars Friday, Wet Your Whistle and Mean Mary race on Saturday. All races are televised live on NBC Sports Network.

Friday, November 6

Race:  Juvenile Fillies Turf

The Juvenile Fillies Turf brings together the best 2-year-old female turf horses from North America and overseas for a 1 mile test on the grass course.

Racing/Training Summary: After breaking her maiden at Belmont Park on July 9, Alda went on to win her next start in the Catch A Glimpse Stakes at Woodbine. She heads into the Breeders’ Cup after finishing 2nd in the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine on September 20. Alda breezed four-furlongs on the Turf Course at Fair Hill clocking 49.00 on October 24 and put in her final workout for the Juvenile Fillies Turf on October 31 over the Tapeta track at Fair Hill going six-furlongs in 1:13.60.

Racing/Training Summary: The British-bred filly broke her maiden at Saratoga on August 7, her first career start. She is coming off back-to-back second place finishes in the Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park on September 7 and the Selima Stakes at Pimlico on October 3. Her final workouts for the Breeders’ Cup included a four-furlong breeze in 49.00 on October 24 the Turf Course at Fair Hill, and a 1:00.80 five-furlong breeze over the Tapeta track at Fair Hill on October 31.

Race: Turf Sprint

The Turf Sprint, for horses 3-years of age and older, combines both speed and agility for international competitors at 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf course.

Racing/Training Summary: The 5-year-old gelding enters the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint coming off a win in the Grade 3 Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park on October 4. He had three starts in 2020, and also won the Karl Boyes Stakes at Presque Isle Downs on August 17. Wet Your Whistle has seven wins in sixteen career races. His final workout for the Breeders’ Cup was on the Tapeta track at Fair Hill on October 31 breezing four-furlongs 48.80.

The world’s best female grass horses compete in this 1 3/16 mile race on the turf course.

Racing/Training Summary: The 4-year-old enters the Filly & Mare Turf with five wins in eight career starts. Her 2020 season is highlighted by three wins including the Grade 2 New York Stakes at Belmont Park on June 27. She finished 2nd in her last start, the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga on August 23. Her last two workouts heading into the Breeders’ Cup included a five-furlong breeze in 1:02.00 on the Turf Course at Fair Hill on October 24, and a six-furlong breeze in 1:12.60 on Fair Hill’s Tapeta track.
